Hi
I just stumbled upon an MJ device I've had sitting in a drawer for several years now and it got me thinking if there was a way to re-purpose it as a home phone with an alternative SIP provider. A bunch of Google searches led me to this forum but it looks like the glory days of MJ hacking are in the past.
So, is there a way to accomplish this in today's age? I have the following hardware that I could use for this project -
MJ Go
Windows 10 PC
DD-WRT Router
Raspberry Pi
I'd prefer to use it without having to leave my Win10 PC permanently on and also be okay with just incoming calls, if that's more achievable. Also looking for recommendations for a free SIP service for the same.
Thanks in advance. |

A formerly active member of this forum developed an app that would use allow use of a MJ dongle with Google Voice. It would require that your computer be on to work and Google Voice may not be available in Canada. Might be worthwhile to check it out just in case: http://www.pcphonesoft.com/gvjackappdetails.html
The days of using MJ with other SIPs are, I believe, over. |
