International Calling - My call is being routed - forever

Post by pachy »

I 'm trying to call the Republic of Ireland (353).

I enter the number correctly.

I Hear:
"You have 500 minutes." --- this is correct since I purchased $10.00 and a call to a land line in Ireland cots$0.02.

Then I hear"
"Please wait. Your call is being routed."

Then total silence, no ring, no noise, no nothing.
So I hang up and try again.

Been trying for 3 days now.

Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you.

To be precise:

I am using a MacBook Pro with 4 gig memory, running Mac OS X 10.5.2, with the MagicJack connected directly to a USB Port (no hub).

I have no idea of what version of MagicJack software/firmware i am running because I do not know how to find out. If anyone knows, please let me know. Also, if there is any upgrade/update available, please let me know.

I can run Windows XP under Parallels on my MacBook Pro so if anyone thinks that it would be worth it to try that I can - but I would prefer a soution on the Mac side as I really don't want to have to run XP just to make a phone call.

I can make and receive domestic (USA) calls.

I can not call Ireland; I have not tried any other country.

I do not now if anyone from Ireland, or any other non-USA country can call me.

Thank you.

If I put a # sign at end (like in Vonage) for international number, it routes forever.

If I don't put # sign, it works fine for me everytime.

I never used a # since I had no idea that one was or was not supposed to.

What Mac are you using?
What system are you using?

your not doing anything wrong, i have the same issue... i was trying to call london all of last week and no luck, at first it was ringing for several times then i get a message the number cannot be reached now and you cant leave a message or something to that effect.

and sometimes i get the busy tones and back to dial tone..

my expereince so far is that it works sometimes and sometimes it doesnt.

even though i have seen MJ now claiming to be using at&t for their international call...
