Calls from Africa
Does this mean I am going to be getting calls from African banks asking me to send money to help release some fortune instead of emails?
My technical support question is "Is it possible to prevent people from certain spamming locations from calling me, like a spam filter if you will, since calls to the US and Canada are now free from all parts of the world or am I now going to be subject to telephone soliciting in place of email spaming"?maine-iac wrote:This is the Technical Support area of the forum. What's your Technical Support question?
Does magicJack have some funtionality which will allow us to report any soliciting or abuse and have those phone numbers or IP addresses blocked?
Does that DoNotCall registry have any legal weight outside of the US or Canada?maine-iac wrote:MJ, as far as I know, does not have that capability you speak of but neither does any other VOIP service I know of. You could try registering your MJ number with the DoNotCall registry.
And if the calls are coming from phones using the majicJack and magicJack network, wouldn't that violate the UEA?
Shouldn't there be a facility to prevent this from happening if it does begin to occur?

i dont understand your concern.. did you received any calls from africa soliciting you or any calls outside usa/canada.
calls are only free from usa/canada as far as Mj is concern everywhere else they have to pay.
unless its an MJ to MJ then as long as that person has broadband and there area code is usa/canada they can call you in the usa for free from anywhere in the world.
