installation issue
A friend got the magicjack, it worked for awhile then he got this error message of the magicjack detecting his operating system as winnt 5.o he has winxp sp2 installed on his computer. Tech support was of no help the stuff we tried did not work. Has anyone any idea why it is detecting wrong and how to fix it?

I brought it home with me and it worked on my computer no problem. We have done a search on his computer and deleted everything pertaining to magicjack and restarted and it still detects operating system as winnt. When he first got it it worked fine, but he was having problems with a lot of popups on his computer so he took it to the repair and had that problem fixed and when he got the computer back is when he started having this problem. Why would it detect winnt when winxp is installed?

He may have to wipe out his HD and put a fresh copy of XP back on his system. There might be something in his registry that is making MJ think he only has NT installed.
I've never ran a dual boot op system, so, I don't have a clue where to look to help fix this issue.....maybe someone else with more s/w knowhow will chime in and help you.
