Hi all,
I just got 2 new updates on my Intel Mac (Security Update 2008-004) and my Airport Extreme (Driver Update 2005-001) that somehow made my MagicJack stop working upon reboot. I chatted with the MagicJack tech support who said I needed to make sure ports 5060 and 5070 were open on all my devices. I had already done this in my firewall rules on my Mac so I was surprised to find out I also needed to punch holes in my Airport Extreme to make this work. In case anyone else has this issue, I had to go to my Airport Utility program, go into Manual Setup, Advanced, Port Mapping tab, click the "+" and put in:
Public UDP Port(s): 5060
Private UDP Port(s): 5060
Private IP Address: <My mac's IP address on which my MagicJack is attached>
I clicked continue and named it "MagicJack1".
I repeated this for port 5070 and called it "MagicJack2". (I first tried to comma delimit them in one ruleset, i.e. 5060, 5070, but that failed)
I saved my configuration and my MagicJack started working again.
Just thought I'd mention it to any other Mac users out there......

error 3 messages
Hmmm, after seeing the threads about 'error 3' messages (which is what I was getting), I'm wondering if I was fixing a problem that wasn't a problem on my side. It may have just been timing with the changes the MagicJack engineers were making.....
Oh well, my system is COMPLETELY opened up on ports 5060 and 5070 regardless...

Port not working
Hey mikengray!
I did as you, but this is not working for me! I have a 2008 MBP running OS 10.5.7 and an AEBS running Firmwire 7.2.4. I have forwarded ports 5060 and 5070 as UDP ports and have a static IP established. Is there anything else that I may be missing? Thanks!
