Can anyone tell me how to keep magicJack in the "Ready to call" status without switching back to Error 4?

Magicjack has annoying bug where it will shutdown and restart every time a new device is mounted or changes state. I will plug in a USB printer and MJ will shutdown and restart. Same for any USB device or for any mounted images in an image drive. If a DVD finishes burning MJ will also reset when the DVD finishes. It's a real pain in the ass. You basically can't do too much with your PC with it plugged in.

my problem
I have noticed that when my grandson plays some of his games MJ will be gone and I have to reboot to get it back. beats me

Next time, try just unplugging the MJ form the USB port (mine is used on a 4-port hub) and then wait about half a minute to make sure the system knows it's no longer plugged in and then plug the MJ into the USB port again. The application should restart. It's worked for me when the application was suddenly missing.
