PROBLEM: 1. Using a TELEPHONE...get a dial tone...make the call....do not hear ringing or the person answering...OR 2. The TELEPHONE rings...I answer...hear nothing!!
People told me...I can hear you talking?!!
I have had this "problem" since I hooked magijack about a month ago. I've spent hours, days and weeks calling and communicating with tech support, tried numerous "fixes", searched the magicjack.com site for solutions, emailed Dan Borislow, talked with more MagicJack people etc., etc., etc.
THE FIX: It never dawned on me(duh), until yesterday, NEVER have your computer speakers on MUTE even when you make a call using a TELEPHONE!
I never realized, until now, that I had my computer speakers and/or sound on MUTE when I was trying to use the TELEPHONE. I always knew that if I was using magicjack
with the Headset function chosen, that I would have to have my computer sound NOT Muted, but I did not realize that if I was going to have the setting set to TELEPHONE, that I had to have the speaker volume Mute OFF then also.
MagicJack support had never asked me, if I had ever MUTED my computer speakers and/volume when trying to make calls using the TELEPHONE.
I hope this helps somebody!

Very interesting "eda", I will have to try that in the morning. Just curious what it actually does. Thanks for the tip.eda wrote:I have had this "problem" since I hooked magijack about a month ago. I've called tech support, tried fixes, etc., etc.
If you are having a similar problem, which I finally realized, NEVER have your computer speakers on MUTE even when you make a call using a TELEPHONE!

no, it does not work for me.
I have the same problem. And seems like it is only happening on my Vista desktop. not on my Vista laptop.
My problem started when I was trying to playing with the caller ID spoof.
I have tried to downgrade. reinstall magicjack. non of it work.
I am thinking of giving it up until I see your post. Once again it does not work.

What I Did
I had the exact same issue, fiddled with tech for weeks with no resolve.
Then, deleted the drivers for both MJ USB audio, and my Microphone , restarted PC and
after they reinstalled, fixed like new.

Which specific drivers did you delete? And where are those drivers stored on the hard drive?twebdonny wrote:deleted the drivers for both MJ USB audio, and my Microphone , restarted PC and
