Are some types of phones better than others to use with MJ?

I notice that I get a 'hum' when using MJ with a cordless Panasonic 5.8 GHz. When I use a corded GE phone, I don't hear this. I don't notice it either with the speaker on the Panasonic base, but that may just be because the dynamics of speaker phones make them sound different. Are there known phones that perform better than others when using MJ or some that don't work well at all?

You might check to see if the cordless base or receiver is picking up interference from somewhere. Move one of them or both to different locations to see if that clears up the hum. Also, some phones do work better than others but the same phone that works for me might not work for you. I had trouble using a cordless phone but someone else on this forum used that same model and reported no problems. The best phone to use for MJ is the one that works for you.

Good thought, but don't think its interference. When I plug the same phone back into Comcast's modem and use their service, its not there. Nothing else is being changed and the phone isn't being moved, so its definitely something related to MJ.

Well, plugging the pana into the place where you would put your cordless phone. Also did this happen on your old landine service (or old VOIP service). It could be the jack, wire going to the phone from the jack, the phone, signal issues. So you wanna try checking all you can.

Don't know what you mean in that first sentence. It doesn't happen with my current VOIP service, only MJ. Also as stated in the first post, if I plug a corded phone into MJ I don't hear it, only when using the cordless phone. So its something specific to using the cordless with MJ.

For what it's worth, I just picked the cheapest cordless phone because my expensive corded phone sucked. Now, it's flawless.

And it seems a bit opposite for me. A moderately priced ($100) cordless sucks, but a cheap corded works fine. Seems like hit-and-miss. Guess this is going to take some experimenting.
