HP T5700 TC/MJ No dial tone works in the headset mode

Folks

It is strange problem.

I installed a order version of MJ as reccomended by one of the thread here. Because of this I DO NOT have errors like "No output/input audio devices found" which I had before to this older version.

Now I do not have dial tone but I can place calls and it goes through it. When the caller answers, I cannot hear through the phone but I can hear through the TC speaker. How to fix this? I have tried different phones but no use. Also tried to change the setting in "Menu" of Soft Phone for "volume/Headset control" - there is it set for "HEasdset/other "and I cannot set to Telephone".

I can use the soft phone to receive and make phone calls there in no problem.

I look in the Device manager - for "USB Internet Phone Tiger Jet" device I see yellow question mark. When I tried to upgrade the driver for this, I am unable to locate place where I can download them. Do you think this preventing the phone to operate normal?


Any insights into how to obtain dial tone in the phone is much appreciated.

We're in the same boat man, I have the exact same setup and the exact same problems you are having and I have already spent oveqr 24 hrs working on this junk. Already did the upgrade fix as well but still no audio through the phone. Keep updated with any solutions you might find.

So after spending about 24 hours working on my box I found the solution to this problem:

Go to driverguide.com/register/download "USBAUDIO.sys" (win98 version works on all window versions, so it doesn't matter that it's old).

Go to device manager and make sure usb internet phone by tiger jet is under sound/audio devices.

If it's not uninstall it from device manager, then unplug your magic jack and reinsert it into the usb slot.

Now go back to device manager and right click on the yellow ! circle and click update.

when at the update screen select no not this time/I will choose my own driver.

Then make sure the usb phone tiger jet box is checked, after this windows will prompt you for "USBAUDIO.sys", select the location where you saved this file and windows will install the usb phone.

And that's it, after this you should be able to use your magicjack to make and receive calls and you'll see your option is now on telephone instead of the headphone option.


This is my way of thanking the UMJF community and all it's valuable members for their time spent and insight on making MJ great and a more viable solution for phone communication.

Thanks Cybertricks, this was the exact file I was looking for. tonight I will give it a try.

One more question - Are you using MJ older version or an updated version? have tried installing DirectX as some MJ experters are saying?

Care to post the version of the magicjack software or a download link?

I have wrestled with my T5700 TC for the last day and have managed to get the USB drivers to install, however I get the dreaded "No Audio Devices" message. I found a link which had an old (something like 12/14/07 ) version of MagicJack linked. When I downloaded that version I got a message that it was not compatible with my O/S version. Later in that same thread a slightly newer version of MagicJack was linked (something like 12/21/07), that is the version I am currently sitting at, as I understand the latest and greatest definitely won't work with my setup.

If you guys who have managed to get the T5700 to work can help, I'd appreciate it. I have the software running on my 192/256 TC just fine -- I just need to get the correct driver / software setup and then I'll be golden.

For starters, you need 512mb flash and 512mb ram so you can install directx 9c to allow the latest MJ software to install and work.

RE: 512/512 -- its looking that way.

Sucks though because others had the 'thinner running on 192/256 until MagicJack modified something in recent upgrades. I know that the 192/256 combination is technically 'enough' to run the software -- but the damn drivers are the issue.
