Hi all!
My initial MJ self-induced masochism issue re installation on go-to desktop has healed, so time for a NEW ONE! Now, like most, I despise my FAX machine. So suddenly, it struck me, why not add Windows fAX coponents in xP Proand set it up to use with my MJ.....via my coaxial cable broadband modem? Right?
,
Cause that we are going down the tubes, and John McMartinet is Satan is not stress-making enuff.
So I Googled.....saw basically the XP FAX thingy was meant to employ dial up modems which I have none of in my 3 active systems....but then saw hopeful thingy saying when VOIP arrives then we will partee! Said you would choose computer to computer in let me choose my modem list in FAX console setup.
So I added the XP FAX stuff from my OS disk and did floundering setup & tried. It was like Kobe during the playoffs: NUTHIN. This is another insane, naive premise of mine, right? That we can do this? And I should desist immediately before they come and taser me, right?
And accept I must retain my disgusting FAX machine in perpetuity.
Is this correct?
Thank U!
Jill
Can I Use MJ to FAX in XP Pro??

I'm not sure what you are asking. Are you trying to have the fax software use the TJ USB device as the fax modem? That might work - worth a try. On the other hand, I have plugged my computer's fax modem into MJ rather than Verizon and its worked like a charm. So if the use of the TJ USB device does not work, you can always go out and buy a modem board for almost nothing, slap it in your machine and you should be good to go to use it as a fax.
