I just received my Magicjack three days ago. It was setup and working successfully for a day. Turned on the computer today and the Magicjack is not functioning. When plugging the device back in, the blue light lights up for a few moments, then goes off.
- Tried the software updates, recovery updates, unplugging the unit, other USB ports, resetting the computer. All the usual stuff....
Still no blue light. And a regular Windows "USB device not recognized" when pluggin in the unit.
I've gone through tons of the threads on this site but can't seem to find any helpful information or common suggestions relating to this issue.
Can anyone help!!??

Did you try to plug MJ into all available USB ports?
Did you try to plug MJ into a known working USB port?
Do you have available a powered USB hub?
Did you check in Device Manager to see if your USB ports are working? Any that show non-working, did you try to re-install it's driver?
Since you say it works on another computer, sounds as if you are having a USB issue on yours.

Great! So the problem is your computer and not the MJ. Are you using a USB hub? If so, make sure it's a powered hub. If it isn't, plug the MJ directly into your computer. Otherwise:
I'd do my level best to uninstall MJ by following some of the details here, and even perhaps running ccleaner - particularly the registry cleaner - as well.
Then reboot and let it start up fully. Then plug it in. See what happens.

mr_ns... I have two MJ's and experience the same problem with one of them. I think the USB port is sketchy but I'm just guessing because occasionally other USB devices work inconsistently on my one desktop. I've been meaning to get a powered USB hub but haven't gotten to it. Also, it doesn't seem to matter which USB port I use, they all seem to react poorly.
I guess my first response would be to try a powered USB hub. They're relatively inexpensive and you could probably return it if it didn't solve the problem.
