Well I just got off livechat with MJ - still confused on what everyone means by Caller ID.
To me CallerID is, the NAME of the caller will be displayed. At present ONLY the caller number is displayed. I have read that if the caller number is in the contact list then the name will be displayed. If the name/number is in my contact list (on the phone) only the number is displayed NOT the name. Still need to add Name/Number to software to see if this will show the name.
So does the name need to be stored in the software contact list?
It seems that MJ supports Caller# not Caller ID.
People doing the resitor fix - Is this for nothing showing or is it to solve the name not showing up ?
Need definition of what MJ means by CID

Caller ID = caller phone number.
Caller ID with Name = caller phone number and name.
If provider does not advertise Caller ID with Name, all you will get is a number.
Only number comes in with with the call, so to get the caller name and pass it to you, MJ has to lookup it in CNAM database. It usually costs money, so I doubt MJ will ever implement it - not with the current subscription price of $20/year.
If you add the name and number to your local phonebook (software contact list), the MJ softphone will display the name - but in my experience it is not passed to your telephone.

What I do is just program the common numbers that call me into the actual phone itself. I have an AT&T DECT with 4 handsets, so if I program it in one handset, it'll automatically be programmed in all handsets. So, next time someone in your contact list calls, both name & number will show up on your handset.teddy_b wrote:Caller ID = caller phone number.
