server down

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and new to the mj. I've had my magicjack for about a week now with no problems, but as of earlier this evening I am unable to receive calls (callers get a fast busy signal). I also am not able to make calls, I get a dial tone but the call doesn't go through and I get a click and then the dial tone again.

I did a live chat session and was told that the servers were down.

I guess my question is, do the servers go down often? Is there any place that magicjack officially tells you that? Also, is that just a standard answer they give you in the middle of the night? I'm hoping not, but I didn't see any other "server down" threads so it did get me wondering.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mine was down too, but it is now back up and running. Give it another try!

no they don't have a status page and the servers go down quite often.
usually on the weekends from what i can tell.

that's why i keep my measured service landline as a backup, (or a cell phone)
try searching for magicjack down..

Oh wow, they go down often? I didn't realize, thanks for the headsup. I've just relocated to NoCal and am moving into a rental tomorrow. I guess I'll go ahead and get a regular ol' phone for back up.
