what kind of drawbacks are there?
for $40 can we expect what it says ?

Well the drawbacks are that you need a computer running when you want to use it, some area codes are not available, you need an internet connection, and is beta so you can't really predict whats going to happen. I have been having no trouble for the last month, but some people may be. Also i think of it this way...for $40 even if it works 3 months its still cheaper then vonage or even packet8 or lingo (offer $199 a year). I would say go for it.
my 2 cents

I agree with Kumar. For $40 I'd go for it. With a wife and 2 children I spend more than that when I go to a restaurant.

FWIW - MJ is my only home based phone line right now. To cut costs, about 10 months ago my wife and I decided to go pure cell phone and turn off the $25/mth home phone service. Little did we realize that it's almost impossible to get anything done financially without a home phone number. We got tired of our cell phones ringing constantly (did you know that if a telemarketer has an existing relationship with you they're not bound by the do not call list?) and started looking for a low cost way to get a phone line into our house. MJ fits the bill perfectly. Even if they do go belly up after 18 months (which I don't think will happen), I've still gotten more than my $60 out of it.

Just my $.02 worth.

Ditto to all the above. MJ is not perfect, but is improving all the rime. Even with some initial problems to iron out when you install, how can you go wrong. Remember that it's still in beta.

Support sucks big time, but what can you expect for something that costs you less than 6 cents a day, about 11 cents a day the first year if you include the price of the dongle.
