About to get first MJ- Setup Questions virtual pc, parallels

hi

i am about to get my first MJ. it would be on my always on Media center XP machine. i dont want the installer to be on that and mess it up. i saw some posts, but wanted to know

- how to get userid host, etc. i have a virtual pc, should i install it there to avoid messing up my main pc? can someone post a link to a way to get those values?

- does the windows software work with parallels?

- an alternative SIP software? once i have those.

Seems pretty hard to get help here. i quit using mine because I cant get the delay fixed and cant seem to get any help from anyone, especillay MJ. Customer service is 100% horrible.
