WTF... works on one but not the other.

ok so....

i bought magic jack about a month ago.. all is well with it until i moved. i didnt have magic jack hooked up for about 2 weeks while moving.. when i got my internet on in the new house i hooked it up. no new updates for either my laptop or the magic jack usb. but now when i call i hear a dial tone ill dial my cell but it wont ring on my end. but my cell will ring. when my gf picks it up she can hear me but i cant hear her.

so i moved it to my desktop which never had it on there before and it works fine now...

a little about each pc...

the laptop is a sony vaio 2008 with vista pro
the desktop is e machaine 1997 with xp.....

i read all the info on this site about the audio reformated the usb adapter everything.. any ideas on what might have caused this??
im happy now that everything works fine. but why on my laptop did it work at first and now it dont.

Try the Vista update. Maybe some how you missed the most recent update since the move etc.

unless that update on the magicjack.com isnt the right one i tried that.. i went through all the settings on my laptop and came to no conclustion
