How to hack a SMC networks wifi phone built for skype, and use it with magicjack VoIP service. For this hack I will be using model number WSKP100http://www.smc.com/index.cfm?event=view ... A&pid=1564it was intended for use with skype but we all know skype sucks, this phone retails for about 140 bucks now adays. The first thing you will need to do is upgrade your phone to with the most current version of real firmware so download this file. Unzip it and navigate to the directory that you have just unzipped to there a bunch of PDF’s in there and one exe file with the name of WSKP100_FUSA-V1.0.0.22P1-070713.exe run this and follow all the on screen commands. It will take about 15 min to upgrade your phone. Now that you have an upgraded version of the phone what you will need to do now is run the very same EXE that you just used to upgrade your phone but don’t do anything with it just let it sit at the first screen. Now click on my computer-->C:\windows-->temp-->SkypyPhone. Now there you will see a dir in there you need to copy this by right clicking and copy then paste it to the desktop. If you try and just drag and drop it will tell you that some of the files are in use so it can’t move them. Do not close the explorer window (this is what’s know as the file browser window) you can now close the wifi phone updater program you will notice that the flasher folder is now gone.
The next step is to download this magicjackhacks.com/downloads/WSKP100_FU ... 0.22P1.zip and extract it will create a Flasher folder with a bunch of file in it that will be used to flash the phone with the hacked firmware. Drag this new Flasher folder to SkypyPhone folder.
Note:
There is a Flasher.ini file that if you have a default install of windows XP or windows Vista will not need to be edited. But if you are trying to do this and you use a nonstandard install of window you will need to open this file with notepad and edit the file paths to reflect your install. I will assume that if you can pull off a nonstandard windows install you know how to copy and paste your correct file paths

Now enter the flasher folder and click on flasher.exe you are going to flash the phone again. So shut off the phone and unplug it from usb. Once the program opens just click next twice and then you should be brought to the flashing screen that is asking you to please connect the phone back up via usb cable. Do it and yes it will take about 15 min again to flash it. This isn’t the last time either what we are accomplishing with this flash is assigning a mac address to the phone so the phone won’t actually be operation after this flash. Once it’s done flashing unplug it and pull the battery out put the battery back in and turn it on you should see a sun and that’s as far as it will ever load shut it back off. Delete the flasher folder you where just in.

Now my friend pull the battery and disconnect and unplug the USB cable pop the battery back in and turn it on and get ready to behold the awesomeness of your new hacked phone. Now comes the part that took me two days nights after work to figure out how to configure this damn thing almost threw it but its 150 bucks and it was the last one at the store.
Once the Phone finally boots it’s kind of slow to boot. Press the center button on the phone this will bring up the menu by default the configuration button is highlighted so just press the center button on the phone again. There are three catigories that you can pick from I am not going to gover how to set up the wifi part if you can connect your laptop to your router then you can do that. The middle option VOIP settings select this and press the center button edit profile. You will see three tabs

First Tab Basic

Phone number
EXXXXXXXXXX01 (replace the X’s with phone number)

Display name
Your name

Auth. Name
EXXXXXXXXXX01(replace the X’s with phone number)

Auth Password
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (replace X’s with 20 digit password)

Second Tab Advance

216.234.78.8 ( this is the Nashville proxy you will need to put in your
proxy that you connect to)

Don’t worry about another settings save it by click the top right hand button with the check above it then again then back all the way out and wait for it to try and connect to the server it should show your name under your IP. Congratulations you have your magicjack working on your hacked SIP phone.
I have used this phone on a B only network and it work very well other than a good 3 second delay but that is with B you will also notice on a B network you will not receive all your calls I have to call the phone twice before it will ring on a B network. Seems to work perfect on a G though I don’t use it all that much. I no longer use my VoIP router because of this little guy its very portable and I go on the road a lot so airports and hotels free wifi hot spots

lots of people have converted this phone to be used with sip providers. Not sure how many have used their magicjack sip ceds though

Well I have come into a new appliance that I will be configuring and posting about soon. I have no need for this wifi phone any more so if you would like to buy a hacked version good as new used for 3 phone calls. So if anyone is interested let me know I may even be able to configure it with your info if you want. If know one wants it I will just add it to the pile of "stuff I had to buy" lol

I forgot to mention that this hack will give your phone a fixed mac address ....if you are asking yourself what this means I really don't recommend that you attempt this mod....It simply means you can only have one phone on your network at a time.

I tried the hack for the WSKP100 without success.

The flashing for upgrade to latest version went OK.

But. when trying the hack I get an error message saying - "Error, no image file!!".
In the crack flashing drectory I can find 2 raw files;
<rootfs.jffs2.raw>
<uImage.VM1188T_R01_32M.raw>
while the <Flasher.INI> calls for <homefs32m.jffs2.raw>.
I tried to modify this in all possible variations, both by changing the filenames and the .ini file, but no luck.

What am I missing?

Your input would be most appreciated.

I'm curious about this error. Anyway, in the meantime I did the conversion on a different laptop and it seems to work.

My current problem is that VoIP goes from "VoIP Registering" to "Register Pending", or to "Register Timeout", when trying to access VoIP through the WSKP100. I have double and triple checked all the settings.
I log on to a different proxy though, Boston - 67.91.233.134, but I don't see what that should change since I put this address in the 3 fields;
Domain, SIP Proxy and Outboud Proxy.
I also tried with talk4free.com as the domain name, w/o success.
Even if I try with the Nashville address 216.234.78.8, I end up with the same results.

By the way, apparently this had to do with the connection, once I tried a different "non-open" AP and used a WPA network key, everything worked perfectly. All settings above are almost correct, 216.234.78.8 is of course Atlanta, not that it really matters since you would normally connect to the best one for your needs.

But, just an FYI, I just noticed my phone only work for outgoing calls, not incoming. So, by setting the SIP Proxy port to 5060, but leaving the Outbound Proxy port on 5070 it works both ways.
