Post by kaygee »

Ive never had a problem until today.

When i plug in the MJ, it stays on the splash screen, AND, uses 100% of my dual core processor... what to do?

Try a reboot of everything.. All off and one thing ata a time back on.. starting with the Modem, then router, then whatever else in line to the PC.. try that then lets see what happens

I got this directly from MagicJack.. I have used this before when I had very similar problem.. here you go:

Step 1. Please try a different USB port

Step 2. click here and download this upgrade to your desktop. Once the upgrade has completed, double click the upgrade icon on your desktop.

Step 3. Go to control panel in Windows and click on Add/remove programs;. Check for anything called musicmatch, musicmatch Jukebox or Yahoo Jukebox. If you have any, please uninstall them.

Step 4. Open task manager (control+alt+delete) and click the tab named Processes. Locate and end the following processes: UTSCSI, NEWNET_SETUP, MAGICJACK, and MAGICJACKLOADER. If one or several of these are not listed, do not worry. Now unplug your magicJack, wait 15 seconds, and plug it back in.

Step 5. Please go to My Computer and locate the drive named Vista Only, Phone, or removable disk (make sure it is the magicJack drive). Right click that drive, click format, and click start. Unplug magicJack, wait 15 seconds, and plug magicJack back in. You will need to download the magicJack upgrade again.

Also add to that list Roxio and Nero. I can't use mj on my xp desktop due to nero suite installed. I will not uninstall nero, so i'm forced to use mj on my laptop only. :(

Are you sure its not spyware/virus + a coincidence? Or does it run fine after you get rid of the jack?
