AR00000,IN00000,ST00000 & UG00000 Folders

Post by upthecrick »

Hi all...can any one tell me what the folders AR00000,IN00000,ST00000 & UG00000 are used for in MJ,they are located in the MJUSBSP folder?...Each folder contains several exe's and gif files..I'm a bit confused why the same exe(MJSETUP.EXE) exists in each folder but with different creation dates associated with them. Also UG00000 contains INSTALL.EXE and SETUP.EXE which are not found in the other files. I also notice that when MJ restarts( for no apparent reason) and when I specifically restart it or do a update from the MJ site all of these files get recreated with the exception of the UG00000 file. I would also like to know what they do at the WEB Site when they tell me they refresh my user data and why its necessary for them to do that?
Thanks for any info you may be able to provide. I'm one of those people who like to understand what is going on with something I am using,so if it ever dosn't work I can find something to fix it with...and...
I have stopped messageing the help desk at MJ because they never offer any constructive things to help solve a problem..
Trying to make it thru the upstate NY winters!

Up, a week later and I've had the same questions, same observations and, to me, these are the same problems.

"NO IDEA" is the short answer. They are symptoms of sloppy programming, as is just about all of the User-Folder-File Location choices. I can only wonder what else is sloppy.

Like some have said, "That it works at all is a bit of a miracle" and I try to look at it like that. TRY is the key word. LOL.

If you want to see sloppy programming, fire up procmon, and filter on magicjack. Watch how often it re-reads the same registry information, and opens the USB drive ever 3 seconds.

The last time I did that, it almost triggered my epilepsy.
