Any call that I have made that reaches 30 minutes is cut off exactly at that point. I chatted with tech support, and this is the conversation:

You are now chatting with 'Alex'
Alex: Hello, how may I help you?
Rod: Since my last update, calls over 30 minutes have been limited by MagicJack to 30 minutes. Please tell me why.
Alex: I would like to know the number you're trying to reach Rod?
Rod: It's a cell phone located in the next area code over. hold on
Rod: (XXX) XXX-XXXX
Alex: Just to check does your magicjack still plugged in right now?
Rod: Yes, it is
Alex: Do you still see the softphone menu or dial pad says ready t o call?
Rod: yes
Alex: Please click the link to download and run the magicJack upgrade (applicable for both XP & Vista):
Alex: http://upgrades.magicjack.com/upgrade/upgrade.exe
Alex: Please download it and run the upgrade Rod.
Alex: It will help a lot also.
Rod: I just ran an upgrade yesterday. Is this a new release?
Alex: Yes, please try it Rod.
Rod: What is the release #?
Alex: I dont have the release number but let us try to upgrade your magicjack softphone menu.
Rod: I upgraded to release 3272 successfully yesterday. Just one moment whilst I download this update and compare the release numbers...
Rod: The version you asked me to download is the same version I successfully installed yesterday. Please, what is the point of repeating that process?
Alex: Please run the upgrade while I'll try to refresh your magicjack connection here.
Rod: You never asked, so I'll tell you. The MagicJack is running on a different computer.
Alex: I do apologize Rod.
Rod: The upgrade is complete
Alex: Are you able to get the magicjack device and plug it here?
Rod: No. I do not run the MagicJack from any other computer.
Alex: I see.
Alex: You could test now your magicjack device, I mean try to place a call please.
Rod: I successfully dialed voice mail. Is that sufficient?
Alex: Not really, try a different phone number to place a call Rod. Just to test.
Rod: please hold
Alex: No problem.
Rod: It's working fine.
Alex: That is good.
Alex: Try to place a call within 30 minutes chat us back us here and in-form us if we have limited your calls again Rod.
Rod: So, is it your contention that the reason for the limit is that I needed to install the update twice?
Alex: Not really we need to refresh your magicjack connection in able for your magicjack connection to work properly Rod.
Rod: Have you refreshed the connection to your satisfaction?
Alex: Yes, I have refresh Rod.
Rod: Now that it has been refreshed, can I expect to make calls in excess of 30 minutes without being cut-off?
Alex: Yes, you could try your magicjack right now Rod. No problem with that.
Alex: Is there anything else I may help you with today?
Rod: I do not have anyone requiring my attention during a phone call for more than 30 minutes at this time. Can I expect that when I do need to make a phone call of more than 30 minutes that the MagicJack will not limit the call to 30 minutes?
Alex: Yes, Rod. Rest assured of it Rod.
Rod: Thank you. Of course, if there is another problem with call length limiting, I will be in touch.
Alex: Is there anything else I may help you with today?
Alex: No problem with that Rod.
Alex: you're welcome here and we will assist you.
Rod: No not at this time. GoodBye.
Alex: Thank you for stopping by to chat, I hope I did a good job at addressing your concerns. Please take a second to answer a one question survey about the service I provided. Please click the "close" button on the top right of this screen and the survey will appear. Thanks again!

The problem is that those guys said the same thing when a bunch of terminated users began contacting them late October. They insisted there were no limits, and nobody could use the phone so much they'd be terminated.rverette wrote:Rod: I do not have anyone requiring my attention during a phone call for more than 30 minutes at this time. Alex: Yes, Rod. Rest assured of it Rod.
After a few days they began suggesting they could provide no information on what had happened, affected users should call the phone number they were given when notified their service was discontinued, and everyone else should "just try to keep their phone use down."
Give it a few days, then contact chat support again.

Yesterday, a call was cut off at exactly 30 minutes. Today, it was 40 minutes.
I just can't wait until tomorrow, cuz the world's getting better every day!
