Hi All,
1. I connected MJ to Panasonic KX-TG2730 cordless phone. Inbound calls display only phone number and not name on my phone. In fact phone number is displayed on both lines. Is this usual/OK? How can name be displayed as well?
2. I bought a new Panasonic cordless phone KX-TG1033 (DECT 6.0 technology). It does not display caller id at all (not even number). Do I need to have an "AC powered hub"? I think my PC has USB 1 (or 1.1) port. Will this hub be useful for USB 1 port so that I can see caller id?

I suspect MJ only forwards incoming number information, not name. I've always noticed the same thing. Name information that appears on the soft phone screen (PC) would be from your callers list previously saved. My regular phone exhibits the same thing - the phone number (not even formatted, just 10 straight digits) is shown on both lines of the actual phone display.

Magic Jack only supports caller id currently...not caller id with name. However, if someone calls you who is in your contact list...then the name will appear with the number on your phone and soft phone.
As for the new phone not displaying caller id at all.. An AC powered hub may help, but maybe you should look into adding a 100k ohm resistor across the red and green wires of your phone line. That seems to have helped a lot of people who have caller id not showing issues. I forget who came up with that, but if you search in the forums you will probably find it.

I did the contact list, the soft show me the name and number but the phone still shown the number only (actually show me the number twice, one as name without any format and the phone number formated xxx-xxx-xxxx).
