Best VM Software to use?

Hey guys,

Ive seen people talking about being able to use multiple magicjacks via Virtual Machine software and I was wondering what VM software is best suited for this and what parameters you'd recommend as far as settings for the VM's RAM, etc.

Any help is appreciated.

magicjack-ubuntu-vmware-server-xp-micro looks to be a good option.

virtua box is free and works just fine for me when I use a MJ just set it up for XP with min system requirements.

wow, thanks alot man.. I was starting to think my only option was using a Linux machine....

I hate to sound like a newbie or something but upon installation of the Sun vmsoftware, the system gives a warning about it not being digitally signed by microsoft, blah blah blah.. destablisize your system, blah blah , etc.. Is this some BS microsoft does because its a product made by Sun??

Im assuming I shouldnt have to worry about this.. but I have to do some early AM work on my computer tomorrow and dont want to up my system between now and 9am...

Just wondering if youve personally used it, etc..

My suggestion:

Clean up the language for this forum, and wait until after your morning work before installing major stuff on your computer. Also set a restore point before installing.

I have tried using MJ as a Service inside of a MicroXP Virtualbox VM. I can make outgoing calls: the phone rings and the caller receives the call but no voice is passed. (caller cannot hear me and I cannot hear caller). If someone tries to dial my MJ it won't ring. I think this is a firewall issue, but I've tried disabling the host PC's firewall and making exceptions to no avail. There is no firewall installed on the MicroXP VM. I have a router/switch combo that uses SPI. Is it necessary to forward ports on my router to make this combo work? I would rather not. Can anyone offer some suggestions?
