Hey, just curious if there is a way to accomplish the following set up:
I know that you can have four magic jacks, hooked up to four separate computers on the same network, and have the four phone lines integrated in such a way that the four phone lines can feed a phone that supports multiple lines.
Can you then use Grand Central, or any other similar service, to have ONE phone number that customers could call, and if line one is busy, switch automatically to line 2, if line 2 is busy, switch to line 3, etc...
Any ideas or suggestions?

Asterisk won't do the trick here. This magic (pardon the pun) needs to be handled prior to the inbound call hitting the [first available] MJ.
Since I don't have Grand Central, I can't comment definitively. But, from what I hear, I think it will do what you need. What you need is to create a hunt group. I believe that Grand Central can be set up to call several numbers in sequence (hunt group) or in parallel (simultaneous ring). If you can get them to ring in sequence (a linear hunt group, always trying line 1 first), that's what you should use. If they only offer simultaneous ring, you will have to suffer with all unoccupied lines ringing with each new incoming call.

The easiest way I made it work was,
Had 2 new verizon land lines ran into the building.
Line 1 was the main incoming phone number,
Line 2 was the fax line since MJ doesn't seem to like fax machines.
With a minimum of 2 land lines per account Verizon says you can transfer calls to any number.
Phone call comes in, operator answers and transfers the call to whatever magicjack. Been doing this for almost a year, have 8 MJ's and think I'll keep it this way.
