MJ with VPN and Firewall

I have not been able to activate my MJ. Have been sent two different jacks and have spent hours with tech support. Have downloaded upgrades enabled ports in my computer, etc. I wonder if my firewall has to be addressed with opening ports? Any suggestions? The VPN is a Netgear Prosafe VPN Firewall model FVS 318 with a Zoom modem.

The FVS318 is a two-way firewall, and not an ordinary NAT router. You will need to bring out your owner's manual for that device and study how to configure its outbound logic to permit your VoIP (SIP) client to do its job. There is nothing that the folks at MJ can do to help you program your Netgear properly.
