Any chance you have a fax plugged into your magic jack and the fax is answering? Search the forums for "fax machine answer", I recall some discussion about fax machines or fax software on the computer inadvertently answering calls.Don123 wrote: The noise it like you get if you dial a fax number.

At first i thought yes this could be the problem but the fax machine has been packed away for 2 weeks now...we are moving yet we still get this problem.tony wrote:Any chance you have a fax plugged into your magic jack and the fax is answering? Don123,
I don't believe there is anything you can do on your end to eliminate the problem.
I have had it at times int the past where it was almost every call, lately it is pretty infrequent. Nothing has been changed on my end except for staying with the latest updates, which now has become very difficult to avoid.
I am very confident that it is an MJ quirk, bug or possibly a feature.

Yesterday, I had perfect sound quality... Today, I have much static (hissing sound) on all my calls...

I agree completely but I don't think MJ has the word "fast" in their vocabulary.
I find my self using other Telephone solutions more and more, especially if it is an important call or business related. The hour to hour surprises every time you pick up the MJ handset are starting to get a little old.
