I unpluged the MJ for a few min. and all my contacts vanished. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Are you sure you weren't just looking at the call log? Or you missing them after you have added them as contacts and then restart?
When MJ restarts it default to the 'Contacts' display, but if you have been making and receiving calls it displays the 'Calls' log. If you click on the 'Calls' you will see the call history.

Missing contacts
It also wiped out the call log. I'll just have to redo the contact list. What a pain in the a$$
Yes, I had this problem and I'm now keeping a backup of my MJ contact list in another drive. Here is what you should do:
- Enter all your contacts via MJ softphone panel. You might skip this step if you already have all of your contacts previously entered.
- Open the MJ drive marked as PHONE with Windows Explorer
- Go into folder named "magicJack"
- Copy a file named "AddressBook.xml" to another drive as a backup.
You're done. The next time your MJ re-initializes and clears out the entire PHONE drive, all you need is to make a copy of the AddressBook.xml from your backup drive to the PHONE:\magicJack folder.
Hope it helps.

Did you "unplug" it, or use Windows "safely remove hardware?"quesney66 wrote:I unpluged the MJ for a few min. and all my contacts vanished. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
I believe that merely unplugging it will eventually lead to a corrupt flash drive. The softphone opens the flash drive every 3 seconds for write. (Use procmon to see this if you're so inclined.). It's hard for me to imagine that unplugging it at the moment this occurs wouldn't cause some kind of problem.
