Problem with PAP2

I am a happy MJ user.

My MJ works very well when I connect it to my laptop under windows.

It also works very well with the Ekiga softphone when I use Ubuntu, so you know what that means. The problem that I am having is that it does not see incoming calls when I set my Linksys PAP2 to be what I believe to be the same way as Ekiga.\

Can someone give me the correct settings for that device. With that device it does make outgoing calls very well.

Let me take a guess that your "Register Expires" value is set to 3600. This will just about guarantee that MJ's server thinks you are off the air for the latter 45 minutes of each working hour.

Search for "Register Expires" for previous discussions of this, and on "PAP2" for previous discussions of how others have succeeded.

I do indeed have that value set.

But a couple of issues:
1) the system (pap2) still says that I am on-line
2) I can still make calls
3) it NEVER seems to answer them

And

I searched for "pap2" and "register expires" here and can not find the discussion you are talking about

"register expires" yields 16 threads, including this one.By reading this thread [first, and then the others], you will understand why outgoing calls work and incoming calls do not. You will learn that you need to make sure that your Register Expires is set to not more than 840 seconds, and that you need to be sure that your ATA is set to make calls only when Registered.

If you still have problems after following that advice, please post to the bottom of the thread that did not work for you.
