How to Use the Magic Jack USB with other SIP Service????

Hello Guys I hope i can find help in this issue, i had the magic jack for a year now but i disconnected for a lot of reasons and the magic jack company didn't get back the USB dongle from me, and i know that the magicjack is a SIP dongle......SO IS THERE IS ANYWAY I CAN CHANGE THE CONFIGURATION OF THE MAGICJACK TO USE ANOTHER SIP SERVICE like Gizmo5 or freeworlddialup......

Unfortunately, nobody has yet figured out how to disable the U3 part and directly access the TigerJet part of the dongle.

TigerJet has published reference designs on their web site that you are free to download and analyze. I am sure that it is possible to take a soldering iron to the MJ dongle in order to turn the dongle into a simple TigerJet USB-to-RJ11 adapter.

If you are the first to be successful in this feat, please post your accomplishment here for the rest of us to share.

Read your post and CUPhone seems like it is gone as their site is no longer working. Any idea where to still buy a USB to RJ11 that would work with X-lite?

From previous posts it doesn't seem possible to use the MJ hardware with another provider like you said.

but then there were instructions on the tigerjet website for using the USB to RJ11 adaptor with Skype

but the IPPhone software download link on that site is no longer working (probably since MJ bought TigerJet)

I have been using X-lite and was considering Skype with the magicjack USB HW if I could find the IPPhone software.

Either a SkypeJack or an X-lite/EyebeamJack would be cool
