mic audio "weak"

I am a new customer with MagicJack.

I have finally got audio input, however the mioc audio is "weak".

I have a Toshiba laptop with Vista Basic. I am using the headset that came with the MagicJack.

The mic setup for speech recognition in Control Panel, has a "yellow" "green" and "red" zone.

If I hold the mic about 1-inch from te front of my mouth, the audio jumps all over the place.

If I wear the mic, as per the earpiece, the audio does not register.

The MagicJack software audio input is set to the MAX. The laptop sound is set to 32, and headset earphones is not at the MAX because otherwize the sound I hear in the headset earbud is really loud.

Is their headset going to work? What headset is recommended, as compatible, and has good audio input and output.

I am not happy about this, because I know different headsets are not necessarily compatible with a different system.
