Choppy audio on outgoing calls only
Just today I noticed a problem. If I originate the call, the audio I hear is very choppy but the person I call can hear me perfectly. If someone calls my MJ #, both sides of the conversation are perfect.
So far I have swapped PC's and both my desktop and notebook act the same way. I've tested my VOIP quality and the QOS score is 3.8 with a 23Mbit download speed and a 2.6Mbit upload speed.
I have changed phones (corded) and tested with two separate headsets. The problem is not affected by any of these changes. Nothing has changed in my network settings or my hardware.
Any good ideas? Or is this just another server problem that will magically go away when they reload it? I'm in AZ.

Same here. The quality has never been better that "OK", but today it is really bad. I hear stuttering and the other party hears me fine. I bought the MJ a couple of months ago to switch away from Yahoo voice since JahJah got involved and messed everything up. Too bad Yahoo quality was great.
Maybe it's just today (hopefully).
Just a note for general use (not this particular problem), I was able to get my MJ so it was usable in the past in Windows Vista 64bit by starting Task Manager (CRTL+ALT+DEL), right-clicking on magicJack.exe, and setting the priority to 'High'. Then going to "Sound" in the Control Panel, highlight 'Handset' USB Audio Device, click "Properties", then the "Levels" tab, then slide the volume up to 100.

Just an update, today it is as good as it's ever been.
I've been using this MJ since last July and I'm sure it's saved me hundreds in long distance charges along with the savings from deleting my second phone line. I'm still very happy with my purchase.
Whatever it was, it was fixed overnight.
Nothing on my end was changed, all my network gear (Linksys modem and WRT300N Router) is powered by UPS and no power cycling occurred on my end.

new to forum but have had magicjack for 5 months. This week my calls can be heard but All I hear is lots of breaking up of voice.Very frustrating.Spent 6 hours on magic jack fix tech support doing useless things they told me that didnt work.
Sounds like others have had same problem.Perhaps it is system wide and will clear up soon

Since you have chosen to provide not one detail of your environment (your location, the location of your MJ number, the speed of your internet connection, the nature of what others in your home do with your internet connection while you are trying to use MJ, the nature of what you are trying to do on your hosting computer while you are trying to use MJ, your observed internet throughput while the problem is occurring, etc.), it is impossible to begin to help you understand your problem. Please read the advice given in this and other threads that talk about poor voice quality, and then detail what advice you tried and how it failed to help you. The volunteer members here will then be able to match up that thread's history with your continued failure (in the unlikely event that you don't find success) and help you towards a solution.
Sorry about that.I live alone in a condo that has wireless in all units so internet comes on when I turn on my laptop.I use firefox and when I make call its on but not being used.Have tried all 4 usb ports and 2 wired phones and one wireless phone but with same results. This started to happen last week with occasional break up of person I was talking to but she could hear me fine.On saturday it got so bad I had to hang up phone but she could hear me fine.Tried tech support but already have upgrade and tried not using usb extension and uninstalling and reinstalling but still no go.I wonder if it has to do with condo heavy internet usage on weekend and at night.Frustrating since magic jack is only phone system I have.Any help appreciated. Thanks Matt
It should work fine with 100Kbps (and it did when I used it in Germany). The more important factor is jitter - the inter-arrival spacing between the packets delivered. Have you measured your jitter (http://myvoipspeed.visualware.com/)?
