Free Cell Phone Minutes?!?!?

Yes, there is a way to exploit your cell phone carrier with MJ service. Of course this assumes your carrier offers you 1 or more out of network numbers as free numbers.

First, you will need your sip credentials... This is easier than it will look.

Download PMDUMP: http://ntsecurity.nu/toolbox/pmdump/

**Important** You must copy pmdump into C:\

Now click start -> run -> type "cmd" and hit enter

In the DOS screen type "cd\"

Now type "pmdump -list" this will give you a directory of running services, you are looking for

Find majicjack.exe and look to the number to the left (for this demo we will assume it is 2500)

Now type "pmdump 2500 mjdat.dat" (2500 again is the assumed process id and it may be different on your machine)

You have now created a data file that has your sip password. Go to the file explorer and navigate to the C:\ root directory and double click on mjdat you will be prompted to choose a program to open the .dat file, USE NOTEPAD (This is important****).

Click EDIT -> FIND -> type "ProxyUserName=E" and click find next....
The first place it finds should hold all your information, you should see ProxyUserName=E813555121201 ProxyUserPassword=ASW9JIG8INGD98ISKA8V (8135551212 Represents your phone number and your password is unique)
These should be on the same line right next to each other.
Copy and paste Your Username and Password into a seperate file.
(INFORMATION HAS BEEN CHANGED TO PROTECT ME)

Second, download and install IVM Answering Attendant: http://www.nch.com.au/ivm/
Open IVM and click on settings
Click on the VoIP Tab
Click on Add
Full Friendly Name: MajicJack
Sip Number(or User Name): E813555121201 (8135551212 Represents your phone number)
Server (Proxy and Domain): proxy1.tampa.talk4free.com:5070 (change tampa to your city domain)
Password:ASW9JIG8INGD98ISKA8V (Your password found in MJDAT File)

***MAKE SURE allow outbound message forward box is checked!!!
Also, I like to uncheck flash caller ID box.

Click OK and you are almost done.

Finally, create a new OGM or modify the default (out going message, you can record your own voice if you like or use a text to speech program for the audio file)

Under the message tab change the End Of Call Wait time to 30

Under Key Response You can pick a different response for 0-9 inluding # and *. Each key can be sent to transfer a call

Once transfer a call is selected you will be able to type in a phone number (it must include the area code), I normally choose blind transfer for call transfers and

You can also have one of the keys go to a second OGM that will give you that many more dialing options.

Third, program new phone numbers for people who you can not call in network. (the # sign =p and is a pause in a phone number) example: 8135551212pp1pp2
This is the way I have my phone dial my mom, the 1 takes me to out of network family members and the 2 takes me to my moms phone number transfer.

This will rnder your USB dongle useless while running, if you need to use the USB dongle once returning home you can simply stop the magicjack.exe process and then restart the majic jack for normal use.

The simplest version that can handle two lines is US$78.00. For that price you can purchase a brand new SPA-3102 and have a dedicated device that does all of this, and more, and doesn't require a PC to make it work.

The only way this makes sense to me is if NCH turns this software into a free offering for personal use.

For those who do not want to handle the cost of IVM they can search through crackspider.us to find a "solution" to the cost. That is what has made the IVM route popular amongst other forums.

And from what I read in the first post, i can only use this to dial out predefined phone numbers correct?, or is there a way to set up this software with two mj accounts and dial in on one to use the other line to dial out.

For the proxy server, try putting in the numeric address, for instance, it looks like you have the Chicago proxy, so enter 216.234.69.8. See http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/MagicJack/ ... roxy_Find2 for the list of proxies.

Not sure what you mean by needing 2 MJ lines. I would suggest one MJ "line" or set of SIP information.

You only need one VoIP service to make this solution work, because what it is actually doing is automating and securing the process of setting up a 3-way phone call, with the IVM software performing the part of the middleman.

Ok thanks for the quick reply, I have put the chicago IP in, but is still says that it is unable to register. Sorry I am a complete noob and I do appreciate all the help that you all provide.

This pic show my current config, I am not sure if I have the other settings set correctly.
The first box is still checked, and the second box (stun servers) is unchecked, do I need to change any of the information in the 1st or 2nd check boxes.
Also, you can see where I put the chicago IP in, do i need to change the external RTP starting port or the external SIP port ?

And I assume my MJ dongle should be unplugged at all times while using IVM, correct?

Where it shows under server "proxy1.chicago..." is there any way to enter the IP address as numbers rather than letters? I don't fully understand it, but the alphabetic IP address "proxy1.chicago...." doesn't resolve to the numeric IP address, so you have to put the numbers in directly.

Also try un-checking "use static IP". I think you are close, keep persevering.

OK guys, I got the software to successfully register my mj, but when I call my MJ number, I get no audio. I want to use this software to dial into my MJ number and then dial out, kinda like the spa3102.

Is the OGM showing the script the default OGM? Only the default plays what is typed in the box because it is tied to a recorded file. It is not text to speech.

There is not a way to dial a number only pre-programmed number as far as I am aware.

I missed that show stopper in the original post. This makes the SPA solution better three dimensions -- lower price, greater functionality and no need to leave a PC running. I apologize if I misled anyone to believe this was a viable solution in my earlier comments.

Ok im convinced, this IVM software is pretty much worhtless to me. I cant get it to do what I want. But is it really worth spending any money on the SPA if google voice will soon be able to do what I have been trying to acheive with the IVM software? Anybody heard when exactly Google Voice will be available to users other than grand central users?

You guys are making a mountain out of a molehill!!

I have had grandcentaral/Google Voice for a few years now. I signed up with Alltel prepaid (.75c a day or 22.50 a month). They give you one free incoming/outgoing number. Gave all my friends my grand central/google voice number, and when they call me, I can talk all day for free.

When I want to call out, I dial my gc/gv number (my one free number) and I am greeted with "You have XX new messages. Press 1 to listen to your messages, 2 to call out". Press 2, dial the area code and number and press the pound button, and talk all day. I have been doing it for a couple of years now.

Since Google took over GC it has became much easier. In the past, I had to keep 1 voice mail from each person I wanted to call, and cycle through the voice messages till I got to a message from the person I wanted to call. They did not have the "press 2" option from the main menu.

Your solution is fine, but it requires that you have both a GC account and a cell phone account that permits unlimited calling.

As you know from all of the "me, too" postings asking for GC invitations, there are currently none available, so that part of the fix has to be accomplished with tools that are available.

I do like the referral to Alltel. What is the plan code for your plan that costs you 3/4 of a penny per day? I can only find plans that are much more expensive than that.

SirScotty.. I never realized that there was a way to call out thru GC/GV, Daayymmm!! this is a great find for me.. Isn't GC suposed to start charging for outgoing calls soon, and, how much per minute is it suposed to be when they do??.. Man.. Too Cool!!

edit: I did know that GC allowed outgoing calls, but I didn't realize that GV would allow free outgoing by pressing "2". that's what I was so tickled about.. Still giddy bout that!!

I have been using Google Voice as a gateway for free inbound/outbound calling via favorite number feature with my cellular provider. I believe AT&T is the only major carrier NOT to offer this feature.

I have a my faves account with tmobile. The my faves is free outgoing and incoming to any five numbers. I am trying to see if I set up my MJ to forward calls to the my cell, using my MJ number as one of the faves. Ill keep you all posted.

Won't work as the original caller-id is presented when the call goes to your cell. Take a look at vonalink dialbridge here http://www.arcosoft.com/vonalink/DialBridgeWin.htm. You will need your MJ sip creds to make this happen.

When Google Voice finally decides to give out more numbers, you will get big relief.. With G Voice you will be able to set up your account so that when someone calls you the CID will show the Google Voice number.. Its been working that way for the entire Year an 1/2 that I have had the G Central.. Its coming.. Be patient..

If you have google Voice, then in the settings> general> Caller ID choose "Display my Google Voice Number.. then all incoming calls that call the google voice number will show the G/V CID that makes them free calls as long as G/V is a favorite, you can also call the G/V number and one of the first announcements is "Press 2 to make a call" that again is a free call. You can also set the incoming call presentation to directly connect call, then you wont have to press "1" to take a call.. G/V started as great, and then made itself 5 times greater..

Jeff, I'm pretty sure that if you make a call from the online call out, that you can choose to disable the CID feature and show the Cell or G/V number, I tried to use it that way from the cell phone, It isn't changeable there.What ever you have set for the CID is going to be set both ways. If you are on the road, I guess you are stuck with what number you have it set to. I know that Gran Central, you can make the call fro on line and designate which phone you want the call to come form, then, the number you choose to call from will show that ID.. Sorry I couldn't help anymore than that..Still G/V is pretty awesome..

Do you care to explain the "How To Setup" for the SPA-3102?

I have the SPA-3102 device and I have one incoming/outgoing line with a certain VOIP provider (Home Business Line). I also have a POTS line connected to the SPA unit for failover purposes and serve as my Fax line and Home Alarm system connection. I also have a T-Mobile @Home Router ($10/month), with unlimited local and long distance calls. Would love to incorporate all three sources so that I can accomplish a couple of things:

1) Be able to make free Mobile calls
2) Route all my outgoing VOIP business calls through the T-Mobile @Home Phone service; that way, I do not incur any outgoing per minute charges.
3) Make all my locals calls via the pots line (this I was able to do my changing my Dial Plan to use my POTS line for all local, 511,611 and 800 calls...neat!). The only unresolve issue here is the caller ID is showing the info for the POTS line and I wish I could override this to something I can set in the SPA-3102.

Can I use the SPA-3102 to meet those two objectives and if so, how does one go about setting this up.
