taflocks - Are you experiencing a problem or thinking about using this TC? I am guessing it is the later. The more we know, the quicker the help. Generally speaking, you will have to attach a mouse, keyboard and monitor to configure OR remote in from another computer. Then there is the issue of Admin & password.
Read through the TC section - section three. It is mostly about HP TCs but it contains a wealth of general configuration info that you may want to do on the 9450XE.
Don't get side tracked about processor speeds as they are different architecture. It is the amount of flash & ram that make the unit comfortable in its task.
Cheers,

Okay, Refer back to your auction and see if the seller stated "magicJack Ready". Or, "Latest magicJack software installed". You should be able to plug in and go. If seller did not state as such, then you may have to do plug 'n pray and ultimately some work.taflocks wrote:i have a 5720 that i went through hell to config and just got this unit on ebay for $26 should it be plug and play or will i have to screw with it as i did the other?
My unit came mJ ready and it fired right up when I plugged it in. Truly plug 'n play thanks to a honest seller. My problem is I want to tinker & tweak. I need to clone the setup b/4 I mess with it.
Since you have experience working with the HP 5720, any needed configuration should be easier for you this time around. Sing out if you need assistance. I have seen a couple of Wyse TC users post so I know help is at hand.

Okay, lets assume that is is not ready for mJ. I have looked at the auction and see that it is most likely on the way to you and you may have a p/w issue.taflocks wrote:for $26 it is plug and pray...........ebay # 380115465840
Let's pick this thread up once you get the TC and see if you have access to the unit or if you need to go to the Wyse site to download an image to start from scratch. In the meantime, I will look in my notes for default users & p/w if needed.

Perhaps the administrators will consider moving this thread to the Thin Client section ??Popgory wrote:...taflocks wrote:for $26 it is plug and pray...........ebay # 380115465840

taflocks - I do not know what that "pack 1 disc" message means.
Re net access, suggest a basic check of Local Connection configuration. You want to be sure that the TC IP address is within the range of the router. (Previous owner may of had it on an internal secondary network for security purposes.) If the IP addressing is in order, ping the router to be sure that you do not have any CAT5 cabling issues. Wish I could be more help.

From what you have keyed up, this looks to be an MSIE issue. Something like IE saying that it needs Service Pack 1? Are all your desktop apps not working due to this message? Not using IE, are you able to ping anything else on your network? If so, consider firing up MS Internet Explorer and going to the Microsoft update site. http://update.microsoft.com Mine navigates to the MS site without incident. My version of MSIE on my Wyse 9450 is 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp.050301-1521, Update Versions:; SP2taflocks wrote:it says it is getting signal and all is fine but when i go to explorer i get the nessage that it cant connect service pkg 1 is what it needs so i downloaded it and it still wont work?
UNDERSTAND THIS - I am not a MSIE expert - I only use it when it is the browser of last resort. I do not know how it behaves when it is missing something. I offer the above suggestions to see if the browser (outside communication vehicle) is working.
Based upon your previous posts, I am guessing that you fired up the Wyse and you do NOT have any mJ icons on your desktop - please confirm this. Trying to determine if mJ has ever been on this box.
Regarding mJ - does it go thru its startup routine when plugged in?
w/b doing the Grandma thing today so w/b 10-6 this afternoon and evening. Have a Joyous Day to you and all!!!

Opps, just re-read - you downloaded a MSIE Service Pack ? If so, did you run it afterward? Again, just wanting to sure that the browser is getting what it wants so it is not an issue down the road.taflocks wrote:it says it is getting signal and all is fine but when i go to explorer i get the nessage that it cant connect service pkg 1 is what it needs so i downloaded it and it still wont work?

Okay, you have reset the bios by means of battery R&R. Reboot hitting F5 - as I recall - puts you to the Windows start options screen which is black. A blue screen comes after Windows starts. Verified on my Wyse WT9540EX p/n 902048-03 (# on back side). So if the system to going to reboot, it appears that there is a Windows p/w issue.taflocks wrote:i have tried f5 key which momentaraly gets me to a blue screen with a message saying password is wron then reboots again
Please try F5 and select starting Windows in Safe Mode and post back.

BoD - Blue Screen of Death. Are you able to go into the BIOS B/4 the F5 key? Default BIOS p/w is Fireport.taflocks wrote:f 5 brings me to a blue stop screen telling me i have a error and to reboot
Thinking here is that you want to use another 'puter and d/l an image from Wyse. Put the image on a USB and boot the Winterm from the USB to reinstall the o/s.
Please search the forum for more info as I have not done this B/4. The magicJack Gods should be consulted if all other avenues have been exhausted.
