Proxy?

Hi all - new to MJ, have had mine for about a week and encounter the following problems fairly often:
1) Start to dial a number and then it goes back to a dial tone
2) Call somebody, call goes through but they cannot hear me or I cannot hear them
3) Someone calls me and the same as above

I have been on chat with tech support numerous times about this with no surefire fix - I have read on here and keep seeing folks mention that they change their proxy settings and it seems to help a number of issues, is it possible this could help with mine? If so - how do I make the changes?

Any other suggestions?

Two questions-

1) What area code is your magicJack registered in? It makes a difference as some proxies suck while others are great. Eg., NYC sucks. Miami sucks. Chicago is good as is San Diego. If you're in one of the bad areas, then blocking a proxy might help you. If you're already in a good proxy then its not the problem.

2) Do you see the SEARCH button? If you search this forum, you will find LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of info on how to change or block access to proxy servers.

I also tried searching for proxy changes but have been unable to locate directions on how exactly to do it...

Anyone, any thoughts on things I can try to resolve these problems? Still unable to find these 'proxy' fixes.
