Question about CID for Call Waiting

I'm not getting CID when a call comes in while I'm on the phone. I get the beep that someone is ringing in, but nothing on the CID.

Is this known behavior?

Same here. The name shows up on the magicJack display on the computer, but never makes it to my handset.

Your phone has to be Call Waiting Caller ID capable.

pjt1, are you saying that you get caller id when talking on the phone and someone calls you?

I have a Panasonic handset that displayed CID with call waiting when we had regular phone service, so I know it used to work. When we switched over to magicJack, the CID with call waiting no longer works.

I have not tried my call waiting caller ID phone yet, its on the list of things to do. I will post my findings when I do.

This is the normal behavior of the MJ currently, it will not display the CID of the caller if you are already on the line with another caller. The MJ softphone will display it, but your phone will not. Maybe in the future they can add that feature, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.
