I can rarely send a fax.

Is there some trick to reliably sending a fax?

I actually have a second MJ used only for faxing and have no problems sending or receiving. The only thing I had to do was to lower the speed and keep error correction enabled.

control panel > modem >zoom > max connection speed > 2400

port speed > set to low

still failing to send fax today.

I got error correction enabled too. also 38000 speed doesn't work.

I think someone needs to write better voip error correction fax software.

Find an old (e.g., P-III) machine - seriously. I still have a P-III running Win98 in my computer museum and the fax modem in that machine coupled with the Win98 fax software works fine with MJ.

I'm using an HP All-In-One 4200 as a fax. I have the speed set to slow (9600baud) and the error correction enabled. I tried it with the error correction disabled (per previous posts and from MJs FAQs) but it didn't work until I enabled error correction.

In my case, yes. The Win98 box succeeds nearly 100% of the time. The WinXP box dials but MJ misses one or more of the touch tones. I've tried slowing things down but usually have to manually redial the number before the fax sends successfully.

Does anyone know of a modem that is great for faxing?

My usb zoom no luck in last few days.

i have a Brother 575 fax machine that i got at the Goodwill store for $6.24 and all it needed was the fax film my settings are- Overseas Mode=yes and setting the resolution of the outgoing faxes to eithe Photo or S. Fine. I have no issues sending out faxes.
