i use magic jack but it doesn't connect with internet then i download hotspotshield from www.hotspotshield.com then it connect and shows "ready to call" otherwise screen just shows "no network connection error 9",
in my country i get 256 kbps internet latenight and i am using two magic jack using 256 kbps and it really gets me static voice.
please suggest me

Hotspotshield is a bloatware/adware app that encrypts and redirects your traffic to a proxy via a VPN. It's ad supported. It actually slows your connection down, which is probably causing a lot of your voice quality issues.
Since you only seem to be able to connect through a proxy, I'd say to first make sure that you're not blocking ports 5060 and 5070 (for UDP traffic).
Once you open those ports, you should be golden.
And turn off the Hotspotshield.

It could be he lives in a country that blocks VoIP traffic (because the country's only telephone company is also the country's only internet provider, and the CEO is the dictator's son-in-law).
If that's the case, using a VPN is a very clever way to beat the system.

I went through the Wiki and couldn't find any information that indicates that MJ uses more than the two ports stated on the FAQ (5060 and 5070 UDP).az2008 wrote: MJ uses a lot more ports than that. See the wiki.

yeah you were right about that country thing but what happen when i came back to office this morning........i found out that two magicjack were opened with ready to call option in my two computers but third computer has the same problem of error 9 and i have to run hotspotshield...........what does this mean every computer is run through the same router and same interne line..........i don't know how it happens..........please guide me
Do you have access to the router configuration? If so, you should be able to forward ports 5060 and 5070 UDP to each of the 3 computers. The computers will have to be on a static or reserved IP address, depending on the router.
If these are the only 3 computers on your network and you have no choice but to use DCHP, you can limit the DCHP server to the lowest 3 addresses and port forward those 3 addresses. That would be essentially the same thing as a static or reserved IP for this project.
Failing that, you can port forward 5060 and 5070 UDP to all available IP addresses from the router.
If you need a VPN to make it work, I haven't heard of running more than 1 VPN through a router. I assume that you could, I just haven't had the need. Perhaps that would be something to explore if port forwarding doesn't do it. In that case, I'm pretty sure you'd need to use a static IP address.
