MagicJack Users Poll In A Residential Environment

Post by macman4hire »

I thought it might be interesting to setup a poll for the forum members so we can see different usage patterns and percentages. This first poll will concentrate on usage in residential environment. If the response is good I will start a second poll to focus on the mobile usage environment. Your participation is appreciate and welcomed so please vote on how you use your MagicJack in your residential environment. :D

Mj runs great on my desktop but horrible on a hp5710 I just got. So it's gonna be a steep learning curve with a thin client.

My HP 5710 works great. Every so often, I shut it down re-boot, and restart the gateway. Usually clears up any problems. Nice to be able to shut down my power hungry HP desktop and save my backlight.

residential MJ poll

Post by lockmaster »

I am using a HP 5710 for my mj but I also installed a MJ on my daughter's pc and on a friend's pc. All three MJs seem to be working great. Big advantage with my tc is I don't have to leave a pc running 24/7.

Small HP XE783 runs 24/7. MagicJack runs very solid on this unit. :)

After I got MJ running correctly I unplugged everything from the power supply except the motherboard and hard drive.

I've got four MJs. One runs on a dedicated HP t5720 at home, one on a t5720 that also serves as a file server and syncs automatically with my home system via VPN at work, and two that are used with my and my wife's laptops.

All four work great. The home MJ is my primary telephone service. My wife is currently in China and we make calls on her MJ which sits in a netbook.

And my MJ works great on a T5700 with 256 MB RAM, plus the TC streams music and runs an extended desktop for my laptop. Tell us about your T5710 + Internet setup and what you've tried, maybe there is something obvious.

It has 256mb of ram. I got it off ebay and it's already configured for mj. The problem I'm having is that it's very slow in responding to making phone calls. Also the audio is very choppy and distorted on this thin client. I just purchased 512mb of memory and hope this helps solve my problem. Any other help is greatly appreciated. Thanks sabresfan
