Hello All,
Going through a vigorous test phase with the Family to convert them over to Magic Jack. So far everything is going great, except with this one issue.
For whatever reason, the CID does not come up while someone is on the phone, otherwise it shows up fine when someone is not on the phone. Is this a known bug, or a possible fix? Please advise.
Thanks.
No CID on phone during a call

Yes. The MJ software will show the CID while your on the phone, but it will not pass it on to the phone. It has been discussed in this forum before. If your using an ATA, CID information is passed along normally though. Maybe a future upgrade will resolve the issue.reddem0n wrote:Hello All,

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is an ATA?
ATA stands for analog telephony adapter such as Linksys PAP2 or Sipura SPA-3000. These devices usually have an ethernet port and an RJ11 port to plug in your phone. By using one, you don't need to have your PC on all the time to receive and make calls. There are many ATA brands out there; some easier to set up than others. The trick is find one that is unlocked or easy to unlock. The second issue is getting one configured. There are many threads here which talk about this. Keep in mind though that using one might be a violation of the MJ TOS.
Take care..
Smee
