Why can I only dial 800 numbers?

This proves my MJ is working, at least a little bit. But it's a very odd situation. Why can I call 800 numbers but nothing else?

Please help. This is so frustrating!

I had a somewhat similar problem except that I could receive calls OK, just not get audio thru non 800 no.s outgoing calls. Check out my posts here. You need to test locally with a friend. I had to return the MJ but I have to admit that the 800 no. calls worked perfectly.

So you replaced the MJ and then the problem went away?
