POOR CALL QUALITY

I have two magicjacks, one in Mexico and one in the USA. speach quality is poor on both.

They are both on cable broadband.
I have changed phones.

Are there any software updates or tricks I should try?

It would take all the many possible issues of your machine(s) out of the picture.

Also, BTW, bandwidth and latency are not as big issues as
you may read of them to be. For example, my rig is a smartphone (with
WiFi) which I've converted to a Cellular WiFi router, at least three miles
as the crow flies from the nearest cell tower, using a Wireless-Extenders
Cell repeater...then WiFi to one of two computers, each with a MJ dongle.
I've experienced continuous bandwidth requirements (of the MJs) of
80K each. My bandwidth is 1.1Mbps incoming tops, about 400K out tops.
Latency must be some of the worst east of the Mississippi. My MJs work
well enough that I did away with all but a cell phone backup. Point is, I
would highly question that your Cable Broadband would be an issue,
unless it is configured wrong or has some very bad wiring.
