MJMD5 stops working

Post by digitize »

I am running MJMD5 on a Dell Laptop with XP which also has the MJ dongle. I have a Sipura SPA-3000 ATA. When I launch MJMD5 it runs perfectly both for in and out calls on the ATA, however after about 2 hours the ATA fails to register. The way I fix it is by stopping and starting MJMD5 but it only lasts for a few hours. Has anyone experienced this behavior or has any suggestions where to being to troubleshoot? I made sure my laptop does not sleep and the disk is always on. The MJ dongle works fine all the time.

Make sure "NAT Keep-Alive - $proxy" is enabled on your ATA.

Instead of using your proxy by name, ie: xxxxxx.talk4free.com:5070 try using the actual IP address ie: 123.456.789.012:5070.

I had a similar issue and determined it was a dns issue. If you use the actual address, you avoid the dns lookup problem.

You can determine the IP address by using nslookup on your system.

Thanks for your suggestions. I did have "NAT Keep-Alive - $proxy" enabled on my ATA. I went ahead and changed to the actual IP address to avoid the DNS lookup. I will report back if this works.

DTM your solution fixed the problem using the IP address to avoid a DNS lookup. It has been rock solid for about 24 hours. DTM thanks for the tip.

MJMD5 has been working well for me since I have implemented.

Thanks to all for their work and dedication in programming these tools to make living with magicJack a little easier. You are appreciated.
