Mac--Intel and MJ

Post by delljim »

I have finally got my MJ settled down enough to enjoy it.

Does anyone close or restart their iMac, and if so, when it restarts does MJ come right back on the screen or do you use some other way of restarting it? If I go to the big apple and select shut down, a pop up comes up stating if I CONTINUE ON THAT COURSE I WILL LOSE All SETTINGS ON MJ. It then tells me to uninstall MJ first and reinstall after restarting. Don't make sense to me. Would like to hear from other Mac users as to how they handle the situation. I use an iMac 18 with intel and the very latest operating system. Thank you----Jim

I've never seen such a message, but, if you try to shut down, your mJ will warn that it's shutting down, and you have to click okay. It's never warned me, nor said that it is erasing all my settings, though.

However, when you restart, in my experience, you must unplug, and replug the mJ in order for it to mount properly and come up with the start icon for you to double-click.

Magicjack shutdown and restart

Post by delljim »

It has taken me awhile to figure this out, but here is the procedure that works, without creating problems on the Mac

I put my Computer to SLEEP everynight. Prior to this I drag the Magicjack icon on my desktop into the TRASH. I then hit SLEEP, the phone shuts down and all is well.

When I open the next morning out of SLEEP, Magicjack jumps back up on the desktop and the softphone opens up normally.

I do nothing to restart Magicjack.----Jim
