Newbie question about incoming calls

Post by rusty001 »

I have had the MJ for a couple of days. I must say, i'm almost ready to drop my regular phone service. The one thing that does bother me is that it seems as local callers have to dial the area code and my number!! Is there something i'm missing? I called the MJ from my land line and had to use the area code or I got a voice that said i had to dial the area code first! I also tried to use my cell phone and got the same message. My cell, landline and MJ are all in the same area code and with prefixes that are for my city. I have searched for an answer, with no luck. Heck, I found a solution so I dont have to dial the area code to dial out!! Have not tried it yet, im more worried about incoming calls for now!! Thanks in advance for any solutions!!!

YEP 10 digit dialing is the norm. In fact in PA where I live I have had to use the area code to dial NEXT DOOR for close to 10 years now. That's why God invented speed dial :) Eventually everyone will be doing the same 10 digit dialing with their phone companies.
