Dial one number answer another
I recently set up 2 MJs in one computer (last 4 numbers 8970 and 6555). I took 6555 with me and left 8970 with my family. My mother in law called 8970 and it rung on 6555. She tried two more times some result. I used my cell to dial 8970 and it rung on 6555. any ideas?

[quote="bitstopjoe"]Maybe that is why MJ says you are not supposed to use more than ONE MJ per PC..

According to magicJack's webpage:
"You can use as many magicJacks as you would like on the same computer, BUT only one magicJack at a time may be used on a computer".
so it must be something else. I will find it very useless if you can only use 1 MJ per computer.

I would try to format ONE of your MJ and then run the update manually. IF POSSIBLE on another PC as it sounds as some of the info might have been shared between MJ's. Especially if cache is enabled for USB devices and it had not fully written to the MJ before you removed it ( it seems MJ software does a read/write command to the MJ dongle every 3 seconds). ALSO always a good idea before you remove a MJ, heck even before you power down OR reboot your PC, is to safely remove hardware ( via the geen arrow icon on the lower right of the screen. Easiest way is to do a single left click on that icon and choose the MJ drive letters.
Sorry I misunderstood your orig post and thought you were trying to use 2 MJ at the same time on your PC.. DOH!!!!!!!!!!

Is it possible that you have call forwarding enabled on 8970?
That could be your problem...
Otherwise, I really don't think there is anything we can do.
It sounds like something only magicjack can help you with.
Please read the Magicjack Wiki regarding "Contacting Magicjack".

Thanks. I have a laptop with Windows XP professional ver 5.1 Service Pack 3, but would you believe that MJ does not show on the geen arrow icon on the lower right of the screen. and I can not do the single left click on that icon and choose the MJ drive letters. I called magicjack and they told me it was safe just to unplug it from the laptop. I guess is another one of those thingsw with MJ.

DOH! That was the problem. I did not remember I had enabled that option! Thanks for your replies.
