Headset works but telephone does not

Post by canoner1 »

my setup: windows vista ultimate, MJ has gone through all the upgrade, no USB extension cable, LAN connection to router, cablevistion 10/2 connection.

I have been using MJ for 2+ years and always used the same panasonic cordless phone. Over the 2 years it has been mostly good. Recently voice quality during the call has dropped dramatically. Starting a couple of days ago, tMJ just stopped getting any voice over to the telephone handset. Incoming calls will ring but no voice after I pick up the phone.

On the other hand, headset still works OK, though the voice gets choppy occasionally. But since I don't want to be tied to the headset, this is really not an option.

Can someone help me figure out why my telephone has gone on strike with MJ?

Login to your my.magicjack.com account

Look for magicjack setting , Then check the Pin Setting and click on apply. Then unplug your magicjack and replug after two minutes. Then you can try to use your telephone set :)

Check if you can toggle between the telephone and headset option from Menu of dial pad and select them accordingly .
If you are using Headset then select headset otherwise telephone.

If you can not toggle there , run the recovery from the given link and unplug your magicjack for 60 seconds after running recovery (You may get no device found after running recovery, no need to worry then )

MJ Tech support: I followed your advice, but when I call my MJ number I continue to get a recorded message saying 'the subscriber is not in service'.

Go to magicjack livechat and provide the numbers with carrier names to whom you are unable to call/receive
