New magic jack forwards incoming calls

Just bought a new magic jack and registered a VA phone number. Outgoing calls work fine. Incoming calls however, hear one ring and then get sent to a voicemail message for a NY phone number. I'm running windows xp 64 bit. I haven't been able to get anywhere with customer support they claim I'm trying to use a server to log in and that I have to run the upgrade. which I've done three times already. Should I just try to convince Radio shack to exchage it?

per a suggestion in another thread I changed my MJ phone number, (first time is free) and it works fine.
