getting radio feedback on my MJ calls

Post by chugg »

I can hear music when I am on the phone. Classical music! Im on the phone all day for business and I have to listen to this. I emailed MJ and they asked me if i was on a cordless and I said no. They never got back to me as usual.

It's a bit of a long shot, but I have seen similar behavior when a computer is plugged into the same electrical circuit as a fax machine or microwave. Try two things; first unplug everything else except the computer, if possible route the internet to a different plug. If no joy then you could try a UPS to clean up the power going to your computer. Finally if you plug your Magic Jack into another computer at a different house or office and don't get the music then you know it is something at your location causing the problem. Try a different phone cord possibly as well.

Boy, oh boy!
That's one I've never heard before...
I'm don't know that much about how you would fix something like this but I'm sure there are people on this forum who do.
If this fails, as a last resort, see the magicjack wiki under contacting magicjack

Is your default sound device the magicjack usb device?
If so, it should never be magicjack. Please change it back to where it was before.
Have you tried a different phone?
Have you tried a headset?
A different computer? Try to isolate the problem.
Magicjack does have music on hold, maybe its not functioning properly for you and the problem is on their side?

... That's about all I can think of lol.
