Caller ID does not show up on telephone handset CID

Post by ThisIsMyUserName »

I can't figure this one out. On a brand new MajicJack running on a new computer with Windows Vista, the caller ID no longer shows up on the V-Tech brand cordless telephone. I say 'no longer' because it did show up initially, but now it does not. The CID does show up on the computer screen though, as usual.

Caller ID

Post by ThisIsMyUserName »

Caller ID for incoming calls no longer shows up on the telephones, only on the computer screen. This is the same problem with many different phones and many different MajicJacks in several different locations. Annyone out there know what's wrong?

You have to use the resistor trick to get the caller id to work on your phone's screen. Look at the sticky threads in this forum there's a ton of info on getting the caller id working.

I have many of the solderless Y-adapter style available. $8 shipped. PM me if you're interested. Or if I get the OK from the mods I'll post my PayPal addy and they can add my post to the sticky. The white thing you see is shrink wrap over the resistor. Much easier than trying to tuck the resistor inside the rj11 plug (I learned the hard way). I also have them in blue, black, yellow and red heat shrink. No special requests for colors though...hehe.
