Extended my license but... $19.95 + $1.00?

I don't quite get this. I extended my license today and got charged the $19.95 but they also then charged me an additional $1.00

What is that extra $1.00 for? Are they scamming for extra revenue (1,000,000 users x $1.00 =...) or is it a legitimate extra fee that they told me they were going to charge me but I missed seeing it anywhere?

That is most likely just an authorization for the card. It should drop off in about 4-5 days.

Bet you used a Debit card, right?
It is just a hold on your card till they know you have the funds. It WILL go away.
BUT sometimes if you use your Debit card AS A Debit card your bank charges you a service fee. I ALWAYS use my Debit card as a Credit card. No service fee.
If the $1 does not go away I would contact your Bank and see what they say.

Apparently it already dropped off sometime last night. It just seemed strange to me, since the $19.95 was charged first (according to the banks time stamp) and then the $1.00 charge came in after that. But since it's removed now I guess theres nothing to concern myself with.
