caller id spoofer using magic jack - how to make it work?

There is a post saying you can use magic jack to spoof phone #, as in the following post:

But it does not work for me. I got my magic jack in Feb. 2009. Anyone knows why and how to make it work?

As of sometime last year (I forget exactly when), the ability to spoof your CID was taken away by MagicJack. There was no mention of it or any explanation; it just went away after a "Lucky You" upgrade. A number of very talented folks who contributed to the forum regularly, most notably Stewart, made a valiant effort to make it work but to no avail.

I don't know the technical ins-and-outs, but I believe it is forever gone, at least from MagicJack. I've seen some references to the ability to spoof using Asterisk and other voip systems, so you may want to do some searching there.

I recently ponied up $9.95 for a Spoof Card to see how it works. Seems to work fine. I installed the app on my Samsung Omnia, but I really don't have a use for it. More out of curiosity than anything.

If you learn anything further, please share.
